This is Moringa tree stem borer
Batocera rufomaculata is active now. This caused extensive damage to Moringa and mango trees. You can see the grubs chew up the soft stem and bark from inside and large masses of fibrous white refuse will be pushed out of the tree bark ..there will be gum oozing too ..the tree becomes weak and will easily break in slight winds.
I was lucky to spot this creature before it destroyed my potted Moringa plant.
I removed the bark partly and took the grub out. The wound will heal by itself.
Sharing here this information so that fellow Gardners can inspect their Moringa or mango trees and if you see such symptoms, take quick action.
