Caterpillar
A caterpillar is a fuzzy, worm-like insect that transforms into a butterfly or a moth. Many caterpillars are striped and colorful. A caterpillar is officially the larva, or immature form, of a flying insect — generally, a butterfly.
Caterpillars and butterflies play an important role as pollinators and members of the bio diversity. We need to remove them ONLY IF they kill an important plant. If it is a sturdy tree, and the attack is small, please bear with the caterpillars.
The below given measures are only if there is no alternative!!
One can spray the plant with diluted Neem oil emulsion or use 3G insect repellent spray or just some soap nut water over woolly caterpillars . These caterpillar will vanish.
If still not yielding to it, can use parasitic fungus Beauveria bassina..2% solution sprayed all over the plant in the evening after sun is down. These will hunt and kill all insects which cut or chew the leaves or flower buds or bore stem. You can repeat it once a week.
