Spittle Bug

Identification :

These families are best known for the nymphal stage, which produces a cover of foamed-up plant sap visually resembling saliva; the nymphs are therefore commonly known as spittlebugs and their foam as cuckoo spit, frog spit, or snake spit.

Important information:

They are harmless and the insects that produce it are part of the biodiversity a healthy gardens supports. In small numbers, spittlebugs won’t do much damage, but in larger infestations they can weaken and stunt plants.

Managing the Pest :

Using neem oil emulsion or Metarhizium Anispolie works.
